Nagpur police sent out a strong message to parents when it arrested a property dealer and his son for causing death by rash and negligent driving. The 15-year old son of Ramesh Khadatkar was riding a motorcycle at high speed when he hit a man on the road, killing him.

According to the police, they have registered cases against Ramesh Khadatkar (41) and his son for rash driving.

The minor was driving the motorbike without a valid licence. Justifying the arrest of the father, police said he was equally responsible. “He should have discouraged his minor son from driving a geared vehicle. There was no way that the boy could have also applied for a driving licence being a minor,” said AL Dhotre, the investigation officer.
