The legendary India-Pakistan match is back today, albeit in an under-19 form. But, that is not stopping cricket enthusiasts from gearing up for the big fight. Cashing in on the occasion are city eateries that have come up with a variety of offers to woo the crowd as they screen the live match between India Under-19s and Pakistan Under-19s in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup today, on Eid, which happens to be a holiday for most. Offers include complimentary shots on wickets down, discounts during the match, complimentary desserts for under 19s, pitch-inspired platters and more.
"Cricket in any case is the most loved sport of the country, and whenever there is a match between India and Pakistan, it catches eye-balls," says Mr Priyank Sukhija of Out of the box that’ll be serving free shots on every wicket down, apart from a 10% discount. Buzz restaurant will serve free desserts to all guests under 19 years of age. Gagan Kapoor of the restaurant says, "Be it T20, IPL or U19, cricket has the maximum craze in town, and when it comes to these two countries playing, it’s like a sudden splurge of excitement so we thought of offering something equally exciting." Young fans are ready for the fun. "We’re glad it’s anyway a holiday. If India wins, there will be double festivities," says Nishat Jain, 19. "I’m going out to catch this one with my friends," says Asha Raj, 22.
