The basic principles of feng shui are the same in business as they are at home. But there are several additional things one needs to consider to create a harmonious and prosperous work space, to maximise your success and your earning potential.
Location of business
If your are currently in business or are about to start one, the first thing to be considered is the location. The next thing after finding a place, try to find the history of the place and previous occupants. Have they all thrived? Or gone bankrupt? One also needs to consider the place in the context of its surroundings, also finding about the success of the neighbouring business that will also give us fairly good idea of the location.
Shape of the building/site
Buildings and sites are in many shapes and sizes. When choosing the place/site remember that certain shapes are considered to be more auspicious than others. The best shapes are the regular ones, either square or rectangle. The rectangle is good when the north and the south sides are longer than the east and west side.
The signboard represents the spirit and nature of business of the company. It must be legible and well balanced in size, proportion and graphic elements. Having an attractive sign board is another way of drawing attention to your business. It should be pleasant, easy to see and read, and balanced in proportion to the size of the building. The good shapes for the sign board are square, circle, and rectangles; triangular shaped sigh board are not favoured. The sign board at a right angle (vertical) to the building, especially along a busy road, can attract the attention of potential customers.
The colour scheme of your shop or office is important. Subtle colours are better than extremely bright colours, as they may cause discord with some one visiting you. Use the element relating to your year of birth to determine the best colour for you.
Using the productive cycle of five elements to choose suitable colours for your workplace.
Fire is good for earth. If your element is earth, you may use some red colour.
Earth is good for metal. If your element is metal, you may use some brown or beige.
Metal is good for water. If your element is water, you may use some white or gold.
Water is good for wood. If your element is wood, you may use some blue or black.
Wood is good for fire. If your element is fire, you may use some green.
A solid front door can make a huge difference to your life. If you feel generally feel insecure and events are beyond your control, you might simply need to replace your front door. If it is mainly glass, it will be creating instability. Get the main door right, and 80 per cent of your good feng shui is assured. On the other hand, if the feng shui of the main door is flawed, the effect is magnified and bad luck caused is severe.
