With FIFA fever setting in, the city has been seeing a lot of Mayanti Langer, ESPN's new face for the World Cup. Daughter of Major General Sanjiv Langer, she has shows like Football Café on Zee Sports under her belt.

Growing up, she played in the girl's football team in the United States and, in college, she carried on her passion for the game by organising Super Soccer-a football training initiative.

Her big break came when she was giving her college exams and she got a call from Zee Sports, inviting her to guest host a show. Now she shares the screen with the likes of John Dykes, anchoring the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

We gave Mayanti a football test. Here's how she fared:

Which referee was thrown out of the last World Cup after committing a blunder?
I do not remember the name.
(The right answer is Graham Poll).

What was the blunder that the referee committed?
The blunder was that the referee booked the same player thrice. (The right answer is he booked the same player thrice).

Who scored Senegal's first ever goal in the World Cup and against whom?
I do not remember the name of the player, but it was quite an upset. The match was played against France. (The right answer is Pape Bouba Diop, against France).

Who scored the most goals in a single World Cup?
Gerd Muller. (The right answer is Just Fontaine-13).

Who has scored the most World Cup career goals?
Ronaldo, Brazil-15. (The right answer is Ronaldo-15)

Who, according to you, is the best footballer not playing in the World Cup?
Although all of my favourites are playing in this World Cup, I would say Theo Walcott, England, deserved a chance.

Mayanti scores 2.5/5. The football hottie is not so bad afterall!
