An FIR was filed against Meghalaya Mining and Geology minister Donkupar Massar by a village headman for allegedly assaulting him, police said on Thursday.
The FIR comes less than a fortnight after labourers had filed an similar FIR against Massar for allegedly assaulting them.
The headman of Pongtung village council, Wallambok Lyngdoh, filed an FIR alleging that the minister had assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences after he prevented putting up of flags bearing Massar's election symbol during the March assembly polls, police said on Thursday quoting the FIR.
Copies of the FIR were also sent to the Chief Minister Donkupar Roy and Mehglaya Home minister H S Lyngdoh.
The headman of the village, which fall under Massar's constituency of Nongskhen, has also sought police protection.
Meanwhile, police is expected to interrogate the minister for his alleged assault on four road labourers at Borsora in West Khasi Hills recently. The labourers had filed an FIR, and the victims were questioned at the ADM's court on Tuesday last, sources said.
Police said Massar would be questioned when he returns from the US, where he has gone on an official visit.
Several NGOs have demanded the Chief Minister to drop Massar from the cabinet and initiate legal proceedings against him.
The Chief Minister said action against the minister would be taken after studying the final police report.
