A fire broke out in a refinery, reducing the factory godown to rubble in Faridabad on Saturday morning.

The godown of Fortune Refinery (owned by Adani Wilmar Limited) in Wazirpur area went up in flames around 9 am on Saturday.

Several fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire as soon as the news spread.

No casualty has been reported in the incident.

Pramod Kumar, Station House Officer of Bhupani Police station said, “Preliminary investigations have revealed that the fire was caused due to a short circuit. We are investigating the reasons for the fire before registering an FIR in the incident.”

This was the second big fire in a factory in over a month’s period in Faridabad.

On May 1, a major fire broke out in a footwear plant Sector 24 in Faridabad, leaving at least seven employees dead.
