THE FIRST blood in Shankerpur village was spilled 15 years back. Ego clash over a gram panchayat election had triggered the killing. Gram pradhan Tirtha Shanker Bajpai was the first victim. Saghan Mishra’s father Ram Lotan had killed Bajpai.
Thereafter, crime spiraled in Shankerpur. Bajpai’s sons and the Tiwaris of the village retaliated and eliminated Ram Lotan the same day.
Like in revenge dramas, one killing led to another. So in 1998 Saghan shot dead one of Tiwaris — Anil. Saghan, Babloo and Sushil were sent to jail in the case.
Saghan and his aides were released on bail a few months back only.
Four brothers of Anil had shifted to Bakshi ka Talab to avoid attack by Saghan. But, on November 13, Jagan Tiwari and his brothers arrived in the village and opened fire at Babloo Bajpai.
The latter suffered pellet injuries and escaped the attack. Jagan was sent to jail on that day. To settle the score, Jagan’s brothers killed Saghan’s family leading to the massacre. email@example.com
