Six persons, including five terrorists, were killed and two others injured in Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesperson said in Srinagar on Wednesday.
Heavily-armed terrorists opened fire on an Intelligence Bureau vehicle near Tral township of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, 40 kms from Srinagar, killing one of the officials Vinod Kumar and injuring two others, the spokesperson said.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the whole area and a massive hunt has been launched to nab the terrorists involved in the attack.
Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen outfit claimed responsibility for the attack on the intelligence vehicle.
The sources said the vehicle was on way to Srinagar from Tral when the incident took place.
Two terrorists of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen were killed in an encounter with security forces during search operations at Rakinwas in Doda district.
Two AK assault rifles, 17 magazines, 277 rounds, 19 grenades and a wireless set were recovered from the slain terrorists, both Pakistani nationals.
