Fixing? What fixing, asks Robin
Former all-rounder says he was not aware of the alleged match-fixing scandal that involves Marlon Samuels, reports G Krishnan.
Former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh on Thursday evening told HT that he was not aware of the latest alleged match-fixing scandal that involves West Indies all-rounder, Marlon Samuels.
“I have just returned from Cuba this morning,” Singh said in the evening. “I am not aware of it (match-fixing). I am coming to know about it only from you now,” he said shortly before boarding the flight from Mumbai to Chennai.
“I was in Cuba for the last week and did not get cricket updates there. Nor have I read the papers. I arrived in Mumbai this morning and went straight to a cricket reality show.”
Singh, out of curiosity, asked which cricketer was involved in the fixing scandal. When said that Samuels’ name has cropped up, he asked, “Is anyone else involved?”
The former Indian all-rounder said that he went for Cuba late last week and spent about four days there. “I will give my report to the Sports Minister and the Ministry will forward it to the BCCI,” Singh said.
