Flight operations were normal and per schedule in Mumbai as the agitating Airport Authority of India employees called off their strike.
"Operations at the airport are functioning normally and the flights are on schedule," a spokesperson for Mumbai International Airport told PTI in Mumbai on Friday.
The strike was called off last night after the government assured the AAI employees that in future no more airports would be closed down without consulting them.
The two-day stir had failed to make any impact as the authorites ensured that there was no disruption of services.
The AAI employees went on a nation-wide strike two days ago protesting the government's decision to close down existing airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad on completion of new airports.
Officials at the Air Traffic Control did not join the strike as they are not members of the union while the outsourced ground handling and housekeeping staff continued with their work.
