Fifteen people were killed as heavy rains lashed Orissa triggering flash floods in different rivers of the state in the last 24 hours.
Of the 15, seven were killed in Nayagarh district on Monday when a bus carrying nearly 40 passengers was swept away by Besalia stream, nearly 100 km from Bhubaneswar.
Two people died in Keonjhar, three in Koraput, one in Mayurbhanj and two in Kandhamal district due to flash floods in small rivers. Two more died in roof collapse incidents elsewhere.
Major rivers of the state are still flowing below their danger levels, but the water-level is rising, sources said.
