Lighting does wonders to your home. From wall and ceiling lights, the focus is now on floor lights and lamps. Floor lamps are functional, illuminate the area and also work as a decorative piece. "Floor lights are usually placed in the corner of the room," says Sameer Hora, IDUS furniture.
Rajat Singhi of Address Home gives some points to keep in mind while decorating a space with floor lights. "Never put a floor light next to a table lamp; floor lights work best on their own or far from other lights. They are best used with dimmers, as light from a floor lamp is at eye level and should not be too strong. Dimming them adds warmth to spaces," Singhi says.
Trendy floor lamps — available in wood, chrome, wrought iron, glass — are easy to move about as well. "Floor lights are flexible and easy to move from one room to another. Also, prefer using LED lights as they last for a long time," says Lavpreet Singh from LA Designs.
