JUSTICE M D Bhatt on Sunday inaugurated the youth introductory convention of the Baj Khedawal Gujarati community at Ravindra Bhawan.
This was the third all-India convention of the community in which more than 200 marriageable boys and girls from Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu took part.
Total number of the delegates in the convention was over 1000. Stressing the need of such conventions, Justice Bhatt said in choosing one’s life partner one should focus more on sanskar, devotion, self-confidence and sensitivity than just superficial physical attributes. Since boys and girls are equal, it is imperative that both are sensitive to each other’s needs and behaviour, he added.
President of the convention Anand Selat said the Baj Khedawal Gujarati community has already attained cent per cent literacy. Moreover, the community has always accorded women status equal to that of man’s.
Convention’s central region president Navin Bhai Dhagat informed that there are 1100 families of the Baj Khedawal community in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal circle president Sarla Ben Trivedi also spoke on the occasion. Justice Bhatt released a book ‘Shri Suryaratna – Itihas Evam Pujan Vidhi’ on the occasion. Suryaratna is the presiding deity of the community. Harihar Bhatt and Avinash Dave have jointly written the book.
Convener BK Dave proposed the vote of thanks.
