JTGDC to hold two-day seminar from November 18

SEEKING TO establish another milestone in the pursuit of academic excellence, Jagat Taran Girl's Degree College (JTGDC) will organise a two-day national seminar on "Developing Quality Culture in Higher Education: Innovations and Initiatives" from November 18.

Eminent Fulbright Fellow and consultant in APIED Bangkok and IITE Moscow Prof BK Passi will inaugurate the seminar while Senior Consultant NIEPA and ex-chairman of National Open School Prof M Mukhopadhyay will deliver the keynote address. Allahabad University Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe will preside over the inaugural session while Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Director Prof AB Samaddar will deliver a special lecture on the occasion.

JTGDC principal and Director of the seminar Dr Kamla Dubey said that the seminar will focus on the sub themes of information and communication technology in quality assurance. Scholars and academicians will also envisage students' participatory approach in teaching and learning programmes. The experts will also deliberate on evaluation process as a method of quality assurance. Dr Dubey said that the seminar will be studded with scholars and academicians from West Bengal, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Delhi, Orissa, MP, Bihar, Haryana and other states.

Prof MM Goel, Dr Yashpal Singh, Dr Khairul Anam, Dr SK Mishra, Dr BC Das, Dr Lata Pandey, Prof PC Saxena, Prof Dewaki Tiwari, Prof KK Bhutani, Prof RC Srivastava will enrich the proceedings by their scholarly deliberations. "The innovations suggested in the seminar will lead to transparency in policy making, vision in curriculum construction and administration", said Dr Dubey.

Co-ordinator of the seminar, Dr Kajal Deb said that the seminar will consist of five sessions and the first two technical sessions will be held at 2.30 pm on November 18 and the last three sessions will be held on November 19.
