What do you do if you have an argument with your landlord? Do you kidnap his 11-year-old son, kill him, cut him into pieces, pack the decapitated body in two bags and dump them on a train? Rohan Jha and Madhav Mishra did just this.
On Monday, the Noida Police arrested Jha on charges of kidnapping and murdering 11-year-old Rahul to exact revenge on his father and their former landlord Sukanto Vyapari.
Both Jha and Mishra worked in a factory run by Vyapari’s wife and had got the room on rent on her request on December 14. On January 1, Vyapari, who runs an artificial jewellery shop and lives in Sadarpur Colony, evicted the duo for not paying rent.
On February 1, Vyapari’s 11-year-old son Rahul went missing and he filed a missing complaint.
“Jha’s interrogation revealed that to avenge their humiliation they kidnapped Rahul, strangulated him, cut up his body and then packed the body in two bags. They dumped the two bags into a Bihar bound train,” said Investigation Officer Vivek Kumar Tyagi.
“The body was found near Chhapra. Through Mishra’s passbook, found in the bag, the Bihar police traced him to Noida and contacted the Noida Police who, in turn found out that Mishra had been Sukanto’s tenant. The culprits were identified with the help of CCTV footage at the railway station,”said Tyagi.
“Jha is married and has a one-year-old child,”said Tyagi.
Jha told the police, “Our motive was not to kill him but when we tried to silence him by pressing his mouth, he died. We had bought chopper a day to threaten the boy to remain mum and not raise voice.” Sukanto said, “I had not even thought that these two men who have a weak physical built could kill my son over a minor clash.”
