Veteran Congressman and former Maharashtra Minister Ishaq Zamkhanawala passed away in Mumbai on Sunday night due to prolonged illness.
He was 79 and is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.
The funeral took place on Monday morning at the Santacruz cemetery.
Zamkhanawala was the president of the prestigious Anjuman-e-islam Education Trust for several years and held various portfolios in the Maharashtra Council of Ministers.
He also served as Minister of state for Finance, Labour and Waqf Board and Cabinet Minister for Urban Development.
