A former SIMI activist has been 'secured' in connection with ganja trade, police said in Coimbatore on Monday.

This followed the arrest of two persons and seizure of a large quantity of ganja from their car during a vehicle check at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district last evening, police said.

Three others in the car managed to escape.
Based on the information given by the two arrested, a police team from Paramakudi arrived in Coimbatore and 'secured' the former SIMI activist, Shahjahan, late last night, with the help of local police, the sources said.
Shahjahan has been taken to Paramakudi for interrogation.
