Four persons were arrested for throwing black ink at Union Minister V Narayanasamy, who was here for state Congress Committee meeting, police said.

Four persons have been taken to custody for throwing black ink on Union Minister V Naryanasamy and they are being interrogated, Additional Superintendent of Police, Lal Ummed Singh told PTI.

The incident occurred when Union Minister of State for Planning, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture V Narayanasami reached the party office to hold state Congress Committee meeting in connection with the elections for the post of state Congress President.

Four persons, who threw ink at him, also had some pamphlets in which they alleged that Congress was using 'money power' for elections. "As per the information received, anti-social elements could be behind the incident. The arrested persons are not party workers," state Congress Committee spokesperson Ramesh Valryaani said.

Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and senior leader Vidyacharan Shukla did not attend the meeting whereas state President Dhanendra Sahoo, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ravindra Chaubey among others were present in the meeting, Valryaani added.
