Cases have been registered against four candidates in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections for allegedly violating the model code of conduct, official sources said on Wednesday.

FIRs were lodged against Congress candidate Jai Singh, Samajwadi Party candidate Shivendra Singh, BSP candidate Prem Sagar Patel and Peace party candidate R K Mishra, all contesting from Siswa assembly constituency, for allegedly violating the model code of conduct while campaigning yesterday, they said.
