POLICE ON Wednesday arrested four youths, who had allegedly gang-raped a 15-year-old girl in a deserted house in Malviya Nagar area in the wee hours of October 30. The victim was forcibly picked up by the four accused from Koh-e-Fiza Triangle.
Bhopal SP Anant Kumar Singh told media persons at the Police Control Room in the City on Wednesday that the culprits include Sanju Raikwar (21) of Saeed Nagar, Mukesh Rathore (19) of Regiment Road, Deepak Rathore (21) of Regiment Road and Jeetu Verma (19) of Regiment Road. Police also seized two motorcycles.
ASP Deepak Verma and CSP Ajay Pandey said the victim – along with her parents - had come from her native village to live at her uncle’s house in Koh-e-Fiza about a month ago.
On the night of October 29, there was some petty argument between the victim and her brother. Their mother reportedly sided with the brother and slapped the girl.
That infuriated the girl and she walked out of the house in anger. Her family members, including her brother, tried to stop her but she did not listen to anyone. Nevertheless, the parents presumed she would remain just outside the house and return very soon.
The girl, however, began walking and eventually she reached far from home up to the Koh-e-Fiza triangle. It was about 11.15 pm then.
At that time, the four culprits – passing from the area on two Pulsar motorcycles — spotted the victim. They came close to her and forcibly dragged her on to one of the motorcycles. The girl tried to raise an alarm but the road was deserted..
Two of the culprits made her sit between them on one of the bikes. They gagged her preventing the victim to shout for help anymore.
The youths then drove here to a deserted house behind the Airtel Office in Malviya Nagar. There, Deepak, Sanju and Jeetu gangraped the victim and Monu stood guard on the road. The culprits dumped the victim near the Airtel office at about 4.30 am on October 30 and fled.
However, while throwing the girl off, Sanju’s mobile phone fell out of his pocket but none of the culprit’s noticed it. It was only the victim, who saw the cell phone and she hid it inside her clothes.
In the meantime, Police’s Cheetah mobile spotted the girl and took her to hospital. The victim’s uncle had already reported her missing at the Koh-e-Fiza police station. The victim handed over the mobile phone to the police and, on that basis, the cops confirmed Sanju’s address. He was rounded up and on his instance the police arrested the remaining three culprits too.
Sanju works with a courier company and Deepak works at his uncle’s electrical parts shop. Mukesh is an employee at a cloth store and Jeetu is still unemployed. The culprits have confessed to their crime during interrogation, the police said.
