Four people were arrested with 5 kg of heroin worth Rs 1 crore in this town adjoining the national capital, police said Saturday.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh said the four - Sanjay Sharma, Rajeev Sharma alias Raju, Santosh and Munna - were arrested Friday evening.

"The recovered quantity of heroin costs nearly a crore (rupees) in the international market. A police team arrested them from Sector-58 while they were bringing the drug on bikes," he said.

"These people used to buy heroin from Bahjai area near Moradabad and then bring it here to be sold in Delhi and its suburbs. They had a well-organised network of for sale and purchase of the drug," the official said.
