Four of the six independent MLAs participated in the Janata Dal United meeting of legislators and senior party functionaries on Monday, indicating that the Nitish Kumar government has managed the support of the 122 MLAs required to prove its majority in the assembly.

The independent MLA from Dehri, Jyoti Rashmi, did not come for the meeting and Sikta MLA Dilip Verma has announced his support for the BJP.

Rebel MLA and former minister Chhedi Paswan attended the meeting, setting at rest the speculation that he might lead a group of dissenters.
