At least four persons were injured when a group attacked the temple officials at the Satchatanand Ashram in Anand district on Monday, temple officials said.

Hearing the commotion inside the temple premises, one of the priests Swami Satchatanand came out of his chamber and fired in the air from his private weapon, they said.

After the firing the attackers fled leaving behind the injured temple officials.

"I do not know why this attack took place but there could be a chance that some people associated with the Swadhaya Parivar were behind it," Swami Satchatanand alleged.

Several people from the temple had given statement to the police in connection with the murder case of US-based NRI Pankaj Trivedi who was clubbed to death on June 15 allegedly by member of the Swadhaya Parivar in Ahmedabad.
