Four killed in Kashmir road accident

Four people were killed and 32 others injured when a vehicle skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and rolled down into a gorge in Ramban district today.

Four people were killed and 32 others injured when a vehicle skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and rolled down into a gorge in Ramban district on Tuesday.

The mishap took place when a matador carrying Gujjar pilgrims from Rajouri district was going to Babanagri shrine in Kangan belt of Ganderbal district, police said.

The accident took place at Battery Cheshma, 170 kms from Jammu.

Police and the army rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, they said adding, some of them are critical.
