Four militants killed in Assam

At least four militants, including three from NDFB, were killed in separate incidents in Assam on Sunday. Police said a group of NDFB militants were holed up in a village under Baksa district when a combined team of army and police challenged them.

At least four militants, including three from NDFB, were killed in separate incidents in Assam on Sunday.

Police said a group of NDFB militants were holed up in a village under Baksa district when a combined team of army and police challenged them.

A shootout took place in which three NDFB cadres were killed. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

In another incident, a Dima Halam Daogah (Jewel) militant Maiban Dimasa (25) was shot dead by police at Longma village in North Cachar Hills district in the wee hours.

One AK-47 rifle and some ammunition was recovered from the slain ultra.

Police also said that seven live grenades were found from a passenger bus at Tamulpur in Kamrup (rural) district and two persons have been detained for interrogation.
