Four more persons have tested positive for H1N1 virus in Gujarat on Wednesday, taking the total number swine flu cases in the state to 19 out of which two persons have died, state health officials said.
"Four persons have tested positive for the swine flu in various parts of Gujarat, while test results of 44 others suspected of H1N1 infection in the state are awaited," Principal Secretary Health Ravi Saxena said.
"Currently 24 persons (both positive and suspected cases) are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Ahmedabad and Vadodara," he said.
So far two persons including a seven-year-old girl have lost their lives due to the swine flu in Gujarat.
Yesterday, condition of Arya Borde (7) who was undergoing treatment at the Sir Sayaji General Hospital in Vadodara, became critical following which she died.
The state health authorities said that Arya had not come in contact with any of her relative who had either come or had travelled to foreign country and there was a possibility that case was of secondary infection.
She was administered Tamiflu after being admitted to the hospital on August 5 last week.
The first death due to H1N1 infection was of 43-year-old Praveen Patel an NRI based in Atlanta, US, in the civil hospital on Sunday.
