Four Pak players get the nod for WSH

Amidst uncertainty over participation of 12 India players — who, Hockey India claims have pulled out — the World Series Hockey (WSH) got a shot in the arm with four Pakistani players scheduled to join their respective teams for the event starting December 17.

According to Pakistan hockey sources, Zeeshan Ashraf, Adnan Maqsood, Syed Imran Warsi and Mudassar Ali have got permission from their respective employers and also secured visas to visit India.

Zeeshan and Adnan are expected to join their team, Karnataka Lions, on Friday for a preparatory camp.

Egypt pull out of hockey qualifiers
India's Olympic Qualifier hockey tournament for men will feature a team less as Egypt have pulled out of the event due to financial problems caused by political strife in the country.
