The Karnataka Police have arrested four men from Assam on the suspicion that they belong to a banned Bodo militant group.
The men are being interrogated at a police station under the Bengaluru rural district. Police sources have not revealed any details of the arrest yet and said that they are not yet sure which group the suspects belong to.
Sources said that the arrest is the result of a joint operation involving the Assam police and central intelligence agencies as well as the internal security division of the Karnataka Police.
This is not the first time that a militant from the Northeast has been arrested from the city.
In January, the city police arrested Sanju Bordoloi, a suspected NDFB-S militant from a lodge on a tip off from the NIA.
