Four time Cong MLA KM Krishnamurthy dies in Bangalore

Congress legislator KM Krishnamurthy has died following prolonged illness, family sources said on Sunday. Krishnamurthy, 61, representing Kadur Assembly seat in Chickmagalur district, was a four-time MLA.

Congress legislator KM Krishnamurthy has died following prolonged illness, family sources said on Sunday.

Krishnamurthy, 61, representing Kadur Assembly seat in Chickmagalur district, was a four-time MLA.

He leaves behind wife, two sons and two daughters.

Krishnamurthy, who won consecutively from Kadur since 1994, lost his battle to cancer and breathed his last in a private hospital in Bangalore Saturday night.

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa condoled the death.

"He was a popular leader always working for people of his constituency. In his death, the state has lost an active leader," the chief minister said.
