A fresh probe has been ordered into the death of a teenaged girl inmate of a boarding school run by an NGO in September following complaints that her body was cremated without informing the police.
A case was registered on Wednesday against Gunasekaran, one of the consultants of the Reach and Reach school, who had allegedly pressurised the partents the 15-year old girl to cremate the body and also given funds for the same, police said.
Gunasekaran, was running a orphanage 'Vasantham' which had been banned after reports that he had allegedly produced pornographic films using the girl inmates. Then he joined the Reach and Reach as consultant.
While the officials of the Reach and Reach run for poor, HIV afflicted children and orphans, had claimed the girl committed suicide, her parents alleged they were pressurised to cremate the body without informing police.
The girl was found dead on September 7, 2010 and her parents were informed that she had hanged herself to death. However, last week one of the friends of the girl told the parents that she did commit suicide and the school management through Gunasekaran had informed them only two days after the death.
Police are inquiring the school authorities and the employees as well as the classmates of the girl.
