Here's the perfect example of a forgive and forget case.
An Indian in Bahrain has forgiven the thief who took away 300 Dinars he had forgotten at an ATM.
The two have even promised to stay in touch.
Aleem Ahmed, an auto body shop manager, had left the money he had withdrawn at an ATM at Adliya in capital city Manama early last April as he had to attend an important call.
While leaving the ATM, he took only the ATM card and the transaction slip with him.
When he realised his mistake 15 minutes later, he returned to the ATM only to find the cash missing.
According to a report in a local daily, he then approached the police who checked the video footage from the surveillance camera installed in the ATM.
The footage showed the man who came to the ATM after Ahmed. It also captured the licence plate number of that man's car.
The man, a Syrian national, was tracked down by the police and Ahmed was called to the police station, according to the report. The accused then apologised to Ahmed, who decided not to press charges against him.
The report quoted Ahmed as saying that he was touched when the man, who worked as a marketing executive in a local company, offered him his business card and even promised to stay in touch with him.
Ahmed also expressed his gratitude to the police officers and the bank staff for helping him recover his money.
