FRIENDS CLUB won the Padam Shashi Trophy under-17 cricket tournament organised by the Indore Divisional Cricket Association. Friends Club beat Vijay Club at the Daly College grounds on the basis of better average in the two super league matches.
Batting first, Vijay Club scored 301 for five wickets in 102 overs. In reply, Friends Club scored 256 runs for four wickets in 76 overs. Yogendra Rawat top scored with 73 runs.
A TRAINING camp for Indian basketball team was inaugurated on Friday under the aegis of MP Basketball Association and Corporation Area Basketball Trust.
Association president B J M Sharma informed that a 21-day camp has been organised in three phases to train the players for the 18th Asian junior women’s basketball tournament. The camp will focus on physical conditioning, defence and shooting.
A total of 16 players from different parts of the country are taking part in the camp. Social worker Jeevraj Sindhi was the chief guest while Capt Prakash Gupta presided over the inaugural function.
Christian Eminent inter-school champs
CHRISTIAN EMINENT School defeated ITMA Vidya Niketan to win the inter-school cricket tournament held in memory of Madhavrao Scindia.
Batting first, Christian Eminent made 190 in 25 overs. In reply, ITMA was bundled out for 98 runs in 25 overs. MP Cricket Association chairman M K Bhargava and MP cricket junior committee chairman Karansingh Shekhawat distributed the prizes.
MADHYA PRADESH state senior badminton selection matches will be played in Neemuch from January 15 to 17. Giving this information, Indore District Badminton Association secretary R P S Nayyar said that both men and women’s singles and doubles matches would be played on January 15. Players who want to participate may submit the entry form at the Nehru Stadium office.
