india Updated: Feb 13, 2010 20:43 IST

Rejecting charges that all major decisons concerning the BJP are being taken by the RSS, party president Nitin Gadkari today asserted that the "remote" was with him.

Speaking at a meeting of party leaders here, Gadkari said he was proud to be associated with the RSS but BJP's control was with him, party sources quoted him as saying.

He said the party should make inroads into the base of weaker sections of society and try to remove misunderstanding about BJP among minorities.

Gadkari asked partymen to work for strengthening BJP in Kerala, saying the political climate was in favour of the party.

Party state president V Muraleedharan, former Union minister and senior party leader O Rajagopal, BJP national leader in-charge of Kerala Balbir Punj, MP, former party state presidents and other leaders attended the meeting.
