Gaikwad ready to face inquiry

Former Rendezvous CEO Shailendra alias Pradeep Gaikwad, has claimed that there was absolutely no financial irregularity in bidding of IPL Kochi team and he was ready to face any inquiry.

Former Rendezvous CEO Shailendra alias Pradeep Gaikwad, has claimed that there was absolutely no financial irregularity in bidding of IPL Kochi team and he was ready to face any inquiry.

Talking to media persons for the first time at his home-town in Solapur, 250 km from here, ever since the controversy over IPL Kochi team, Gaikwad, maintained that they had committed nothing illegal and wrong in the entire deal.

“All the misunderstandings spread because we are new in this venture, nobody knows about us and amount was big,” Gaikwad said.

Gaikwad said that World Sport Pvt Ltd management decided to enter into IPL bid for which it won support from five companies/individuals including Anchor Pvt Ltd, Parini Developers, Eye Films, Anand Shah and Vivek Venugopal. He said Rendezvous floated World Pvt Ltd six months back for the purpose, in which individuals including Kisan Gaikwad, Pushpa Gaikwad, Sunanda Pushkar, Jayant Kotalwar, Vishnu Mohan Prasad and Sandeep Agrval were involved.

Gaikwad said they came into contact with Sunanda Pushkar due to an event management through an agency and later she was involved in the venture.

“It was necessary for us raise the funds if we want to enter in IPL and we succeeded,” Gaikwad said adding that Rendezvous has been asked by stake holders to select the team and take care of all the matters and company will to do so in the future.

Gaikwad said nobody will find any irregularity in the entire transaction as it was absolutely transparent.

Gaikwad said he, himself, was a cricket player since his college days and formed Pushp Cricket Academy for spread and coaching of cricket. “I know several cricket players personally because of my love for cricket,” Gaikwad said.

Maratha outfit comes out in support of Gaikwad

Shailendra Gaikwad, former Rendezvous CEO, has got some support from his community, the Marathas. Maratha Seva Sangh, a Maratha community outfit that has strong support base in several parts of central and western Maharashtra.

A delegation of the Sangh met Gaikwad at his Solapur residence and extended him their support. Later in a statement, the Sangh said it would back people struggling to get into new venture and appealed that they should not be victimised.

The Sangh is known for its aggressive stand on various political and social issues. In fact, its wing, Sambhaji Brigade is rather notorious for its violent agitations.
