As the temperature continues to rise in the city, Delhiites are rushing for respite from the heat wave. A cool option that you could go for to escape the scorching sun is heading to a waterpark — a perfect way to combine family-time with some fun water rides.
From multi-lane water slides to water volleyball, artificial waterfalls and tipping buckets — there is plenty on offer. Here’s a look at a few of these fun destinations.
Fun 'N' Food Village
Started in 1993, this amusement and waterpark on Delhi-Gurgaon border boasts of 19 waterslides and six pools. There is a rain dance pool, volleyball pool and a separate pool for the kids, where you can indulge in some splashy fun. Do try the river slide, speed coaster and Asia's fastest water slide — Aqua Shute. You can also rent a swimsuit, safety tube or locker to keep your valuables, for Rs 50. Those who are more adventurous can head to the amusement park. Gorge on some food after all the activity — go for a plate of cholle bhature or chowmein, priced between Rs 70 and Rs 100 at the multi-cuisine restaurant — Jalaysha.

Splash Water Park
Located on the outskirts of the city, this waterpark offers a variety of waterslides. Guests can enjoy more than six pools including the Wave Pool, Pendulum and Lazy River. There is separate pool for kids. The 60 feet high waterfall is a favourite among visitors. Swimming costumes, floating tubes and lockers are available on rent for Rs 50 to Rs 80.

Wet 'N' Wild
Located at a 30 minute drive from Dhaula Kuan, the water park has nine water rides including the Pendulum, Tornado and Twister. If you don't want to drive back, you can stay overnight at the resort and enjoy a relaxed breakfast the next morning.

Visit this amusement park in Rohini for its water rides like H20, Splash Dunk and Splash Down. H20 is the most popular for its tower like structure with water sprinklers, toy guns and a mushroom shaped waterfall. One can also walk on water with water zorbing or opt for boating in the Lagoon to your heart's content. Spread over 62 acres, the park also has a mall called Metro Walk for shoppers, and ample parking space. The Bollywood stunt shows in the evening provide live entertainment.

Worlds Of Wonder
You can head to the Worlds of Wonder (WOW) in Noida for a day of rain and romance. From old classics to popular rock numbers, the DJ plays entertaining music. There is also a Water Lagoon where people can go for boating. The park has 19 rides divided into a teen, family and children’s zone. The most popular rides are Download, Rock and Roll and Mega Disco.

Situated on National Highway 8, this amusement and waterpark has a 12,000 square feet water pool divided into three sections — the first has water slides, the second is a mist pool with a water wall and the third, a four feet deep swimming pool. After enjoying the rides you can go for sandwiches, burgers or French fries, priced between Rs 100 to Rs 150, from the snacks counter inside the park. If you forget to carry your swimsuit there’s no need to worry — they are available on rent at Rs 50 to Rs 60 for the day.
