Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has a reason to cheer. Singh is the first cricketer to have a game dedicated to his life on the Direct To Home (DTH) platform. Titled ‘Yuvraj Singh Cricket Championship’, the Java-based game was recently launched in the capital. The game is conceptualised and developed by Hungama Game Studio and is exclusively available on Tata Sky.
“I grew up playing games, such as Mario and Contra. I love video games, but due to lack of time, I don’t get to indulge in them. It is a great feeling to have a game designed around me — that includes real-life situations around my cricketing career, including the records I have made,” said Singh. He was actively involved in the whole process while the game was developed.
But why is the cricketer chosen for the game? “Our company represents Yuvraj in the digital and mobile entertainment space,” answers Manish Malik, general manager — Games & Applications, Hungama Digital Media. Malik adds, “The game took around 60 days to be developed. It lets gamers to step into Yuvraj’s shoes and exposes them to various challenges, derived from the cricketer’s sporting career.”
We hope gamers will take to this game and hone their cricketing skills.
