THE 10-day long festival of Ganesh Utsav began today, with great enthusiasm and cheers in the City. As the market could be seen abuzz with the sale of Ganesh idols and laddoos, at several nooks and corners in the City, the local committees could be seen preparing to begin celebrations. Decoration with lights and festoons at pandals and temples marked the beginning of the festival season of the Hindus.
The sale of sweets, especially laddoos and modaks, and flowers have gone up in the market. On the streets, children and youths were found carrying idols of Ganesh to their destinations, cheering ‘Ganpati Bappa Mourya’ and ‘Jai Ganesh’.
In Bairagarh the ten-day Ganesh Utsav commenced with religious fervour, zeal and enthusiasm. Over 60 attractively decorated idols of Lord Ganesha were installed in the township.
Amidst the chanting of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, the youth groups brought the idols of Lord Ganesh and installed them at the tableaux with all vedic rituals.
The idol at Himgiri, a tableau put up by Navyuvak Prabhat Mandali on the main road, was installed in presence of Lalghati Mahant Chandramadas. The tableau was the centre of attraction in the township, as huge crowd was seen thronging it.
Prabhat Mandali had put up such an attractive tableau for the 21st consecutive year, informed Navyuvak Prabhat Mandali chiefs Rajendra Garg and Premnarayan Garg. Zone president, Rajesh Hingorani, Block Congress president Babushah and BJP leader Nanakram Vadhwani and many others were present.
Besides Lord Ganesha’s tableaux were installed at Bus Stand route, Sadhu Vasvani School road, CRP, CTO, Gidwani Park area, Saw Mills Road, Allahabad Bank Road and at other places.
