A notorious gang leader, who is suspected to be involved in five murder cases and several other crimes, was arrested in Bangalore along with 13 of his associates, police said on Wednesday.
Goon leader 'JCB' Narayana and six of his associates were rounded up Monday as they gathered on Rayasandra Road here to settle scores with a rival gang, they said, adding five revolvers, 33 cartridges and 14 lethal weapons were also recovered.
Earlier on Sunday, though the special squad of police had swooped down on the gang at Electronic City here, Narayana managed to flee but seven of the gang members were arrested.
The gang had let loose a reign of terror in areas like Chikka Begur, Dodda Begur, Rayasandra, Dooda Nagamangala, Choodasandra, Hulimavu, Electronic City, Mico Layout and other adjoining localities, police said.
The goon and his associates used to encroach on government and other disputed lands and later sell at a higher rate. They also used to threaten farmers and real estate agents and forcibly acquire their land, police said.
