Two Bulandshahar college girls were allegedly gang-raped by four men in the age group of 21 to 25 at NRI City apartment in Greater Noida on Friday night.
While three of the four accused have been arrested, one was absconding till late Saturday evening, police said.
The victims, students of a degree college in Bulandshahar in western UP, were phone friends with Deepak Singh, a student in a south Delhi animation institute, and Jatinder Singh, who quit from a sales job last month, police said.
“On Friday evening, Jatinder brought the two girls to Greater Noida to show them the hi-tech city,” Superintendent of Police S.K. Verma said.
“As he had gained their confidence, the girls did not suspect any foul play. The two girls had gone shopping with these two youth on some previous occasions also.”
“He took the girls to NRI City house number A-71 in Greater Noida where two more men were present along with Deepak. The girls asked Jatinder to drop them home. But the four men forced the girls to stay and allegedly took turns raping them the entire night,” Verma said.
The next morning, police said, Jatinder was on his way to drop the girls home when the victims spotted a PCR van near Amka railway crossing and raised an alarm.
“We immediately arrested Jatinder while a police team was sent to NRI City from where Deepak and Prashant Kumar were nabbed. One Vicky Singh, however, managed to escape,” Verma said.
“Investigations revealed that Vicky works at a call centre in Sector 63, Noida. He had posed as Jatinder to get the job and had even submitted Jatinder’s educational certificates at the call centre. Prashant is a final year BBA student at a reputed college in Greater Noida,” Verma said.
