PRIZES FOR the Shree Guruji Open General Knowledge Competition organised by the Bhopal City unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were given away here on Sunday.
Govind Patel of Saraswati School, Shivaji Nagar, Nidhi Gupta of Veena Vadini Ayurved College and Abhishek Bachouria of Ayushma College won the first, second and third prizes worth Rs 7000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
DIG Anuradha Shankar was the chief guest while ABVP national vice-president Dr Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari was the main speaker and Madhya Pradesh Small Industries Corporation chairman Vipin Dixit presided over.Speaking on the occasion, Anuradha said patriotism and nationalism are two different things, and translating patriotism into nationalism is a difficult task.Being a police official is a very responsible work and in present circumstances working sincerely is very difficult for them, she added.
Anuradha urged the youth to participate in national work with as much enthusiasm as they participated in the competition.Dr Tiwari said the ABVP keeps on conducting such constructive activities for the betterment of youth. This year is the birth centenary of M S (Guruji) Golwalkar and such programmes would be conducted across country, he added.
The ABVP national vice-president said participation of a large number of students in the competition shows that the ABVP is working with the mainstream society and does not adhere to a particular thought process. Meanwhile, Dixit said the students should develop willpower to achieve their aim. Consolation prizes were given away to 20 students on the occasion.
