A 37-year-old German national has been arrested for supplying drugs at high profile parties in several cities including Delhi a week ago. Police said the accused, identified as Christian Fell, came to India in 1998 “to seek peace”.
He told the police that he got hooked to drugs during his entourage to Goa and Pushkar in Rajasthan and took to selling drugs when he ran out of money. Police said this is one of the very rare cases in Delhi Police's history that it has seized LSD in the city. Fell's customers contacted him through emails and never used his mobile phone to avoid detection and arrest.
“Back in Germany, he had even acted in several movies. He never got any meaty role, so he came to India seeking peace. He rechristened himself as Prem Sharma and lived in Pune for several years before moving to Goa and other tourist destinations,” said Satyendra Garg, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime).
The accused was arrested from Paharganj area on May 20. Police said first he started selling charas to tourists in Manali and Kathmandu. After that he graduated to selling LSD, which fetched him more money. He purchased the drugs from another German, whom the police have not arrested so far.
“His frequent travels had helped him forge contacts with rich youngsters in major cities and helped him selling drugs,” said Garg. The accused is also known as “Captain Universe” and was using an email id — “joyfromsky”.
Police seized 13 grams LSD and 100 grams charas from his possession when he was arrested.
