Bored of run of the mill Bollywood awards that seem mostly fixed? Then a new movement started on Twitter to make the ‘tweeple’ choose their own film awards is just for you.

“It all started as a rant against Bollywood film awards and their questionable nominees and winners,” says Somen Mishra, a journalist and a co-founder of ‘Tweeple film awards’ along with HT journalist Nikhil Taneja. Within a few days of being announced, the awards already have hundreds of followers on twitter and fans on facebook. Giving an insight into the process of selection, Mishra says, “We have 20 noted film critics, 8 top music critics already as part of the jury. Further, 55 popular Bollywood bloggers also stand a chance to be in the jury, through a voting process. Once the jury decides the nominees for various categories, anyone on twitter can cast a vote to select the winners.”
