The fate of the Aarushi Talwar murder case is likely to be decided on Monday when a Ghaziabad court is expected to take up for hearing the closure report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the agency probing the crime.
The court will decide if whether or not the case should be re-investigated.
After investigating the double murder of Aarushi, 13, and her domestic help Hemraj Banjade, 45, for 30 months, the CBI on December 29 moved court, seeking permission to close the case on grounds of lack of conclusive evidence.
Meanwhile, Aarushi's parents, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, said they would apply for a copy of the closure report on Monday.
"We will not file any defamation suit against CBI. Our only concern is to get justice for our daughter," Nupur Talwar.
Rebecca John, one of the Talwars' lawyers, said CBI leaked the closure report to the media to cover up its own act.
"It is the same team that gave a clean-chit to Dr Rajesh Talwar earlier and is now terming him a suspect," John said.
