A day after an elderly mother-son duo was found brutally murdered in Raj Nagar, a 65-year-old was found killed at her house in Morti near NH-58 on Saturday morning.
According to police, Shiksha Devi’s throat was slashed while she was sleeping. The incident came to light around 6.30am when the victim’s daughter-in-law, Kavita, went to her bedroom and found her body lying in a pool of blood.
The two women were alone in the house since Friday night as Shiksha’s son had gone to a hospital to look after his ailing cousin.
Police said they found two pieces of blood-stained cloths from the scene of the crime and suspect the killers used it to wipe their hands after the murder.
“As per initial investigation, we suspect the assailants entered the house from the front door. Both the women were sleeping in separate rooms on Friday night.
"We have registered a case of murder against unidentified persons,” said PK Gautam, station-officer, Sihani Gate.
The victim’s three other sons were living in the same locality in separate houses.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination. This is the fourth murder reported from Ghaziabad in the last two days.
On Friday, a 55-year-old man was shot dead near Lajpat Nagar in Sahibabad by three bike-borne assailants while an 85-year-old woman and her 62-year-old son were found murdered at their residence in Sector-14, Raj Nagar.
The preliminary probe into the killing of the mother-son duo in Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad has revealed that the killers might have been known to the victims.
The attackers had a friendly entry as there was no sign of resistance at the entrance of the house. the police have ruled out robbery.
