The ward consists of VVIP areas like Badshah Nagar, Gonda Colony, Eldeco Green, Irrigation Colony, Nehru Enclave, Vishwas Khand I, II, III and Jugauli Gomti nagar.

The ward gets 7 out of ten.

The area loses marks due to heavy encroachment on all sides, poor water supply, mixing of sewer lines with the water lines, requirement of overhead water tank, poor sanitation, and law and order.

RESIDENT OF the ward Ajay Yadav says, “Water supply in the area is limited to two hours a day. We have to make do with poor water supply even in winters. We want a water tank in our area to solve the problem.”

Another resident DK Singh says, “The problem of encroachment in Nishatganj, Jugauli, Vishwas Khand and Papermill Colony is so acute that most of the roads are eaten into. Squatters are always ready to pick up a fight and they are so powerful, even the administration officials are afraid of removing them despite court orders.”

Says another resident,Ravi, “In most of the ward water lines are running so close to sewer lines that sometimes the water supplied gets turbid. We have approached the authorities several times with our complaint but nothing has been done so far.”

“Two years back, poetess Madhumita Shukla was shot dead by miscreants in this area. Over the years, law and order situation in the ward has deteriorated and women feel unsafe in the area,” complains Chandra Singh. Replying to the charges, corporator Rajesh Singh Gabbar says, “ I have installed two tubewells to solve the water problem in the ward. Because of delimitation, some new areas have been included in the ward that are facing water problem. I will solve all the problem once I reach the LMC house.”

Regarding sewer lines running into water supply, he said, “I have already written to the authorities and segregation of water pipes from sewer lines would be done on priority basis.”

Regarding encroachments, he said, “I have always been against encroachments. If the administration took action aginst encroachers, I would support the cause.”
