At the end of what seemed to be one of the most unpredictable and dramatic rally weekends for Team Sidvin India (TSI Racing), Gaurav Gill emerged overall seventh in the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC). The effort got the team its first-ever points.
"This is the start to what I am working to achieve. After an extremely difficult weekend, it feels great to emerge with a good position and get our first-ever set of points," said an exhausted Gaurav.
With a good pace set in the shakedown, the first day saw the team withdrawing after five stages due to a mechanical error. The next day was crucial for Gaurav and he moved into the top six after starting from the back of the grid.
After the stupendous performance on Saturday, Gaurav continued to shine on the final day of the rally. On Saturday's last stage, Gaurav finished seventh fastest with a time of 18.18.3min. A Araujo clocked the fastest with a time of 16.23.2 followed by N Al Attiyah with a time of 16.33.3min.
