Ten-yr-old Khusbu's only crime was that she had taken spinach from Pankaj Rai's field without his permission.
A powerful landowner in a Bihar village chopped off a 10-year-old girl's fingers and a portion of her palm because she collected some spinach from his field.
The shocking incident occurred two days ago in a village in Bhagalpur district, 250 km from Patna, said media reports.

Khusbu's only crime was that she had taken spinach from Pankaj Rai's field without his permission. "Little did she know that it would cost her hand," said her mother Usha Devi.
According to her, Rai used a sharp iron scythe used for harvesting and tried to chop off her hand.
Bhagalpur district superintendent of police JS Ganwar has assured Khusbu's parents that action would be taken against Rai.
