Global meet on camels in Rajasthan

The scientists will discuss modern trends in research on camels along with the future strategy of saving this specie.

Scientists from almost 10 countries are to take part in a two-day conference on camels to be held in Bikaner in Rajasthan.

The conference will be organized by the veterinary college of Rajasthan Agriculture University at Bikaner on Dec 31 and Jan 1, the organisers said.

"The scientists will discuss modern trends in research on camels along with the future strategy of saving this specie in the world," vice chancellor Parmatama Singh said.

There are over 19 million camels in the world. The population in India is put at around 630,000. The country is ranked 5th in the camel world.
