Manikaran is near Manali, so plan you trip in such a way that Manali and maybe Rohtang pass, too, are part of the itinerary.
I am planning to visit Kodaikanal in October. Is that a good time to visit the place? Will it be raining in Kodai during October?
October is the perfect time to visit Kodaikanal. The monsoon will be over by then and winter will be a month or so away. The surroundings will be lush green soon after the rains and the place should be steeped in scenic beauty.
Since October is off-season, you might get good discounts in terms of stay, and the rush at sightseeing spots will be considerably lower. Do not forget to carry a pair of good walking shoes.
Recently, I learnt of a place called Manikaran. How can I reach this place? Please advise.
Manikaran is near Manali, so plan you trip in such a way that Manali and maybe Rohtang pass, too, are part of the itinerary. A three-hour drive from Manali, the hot springs in Manikaran are located in a Gurudwara.
If you’re going to spend much time there, see how food is cooked in these springs, and even take a dip asthe water is said to have medicinal properties.
The road leading to Manikaran from Bhuntar is single lane and the entire journey, to and fro, will take about six to seven hours.
