Goa Police scanning missing persons' complaints

Goa Police are scanning the entire list of 20 people who were reported missing in the state since October 1, a senior official said.

Of these people, about whom missing complaints were filed in various police stations, two were murdered, both women, and five traced.

Bodies of the two women who were murdered at Merces and Verna villages were found burnt. They were reported missing at Verna and Panaji police stations.

Police in the tourist state have recovered 10 bodies in the last few days, eight of them found murdered since Monday.

Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande said the missing complaints are being thoroughly scanned.

Police records reveal that since beginning of this month, nine persons, six of them women, were missing from North Goa. Amongst them, a woman was found murdered while two were traced.

In South Goa, five men were missing of which one has been traced. In the same district, six women were missing of which one was traced and another murdered, police said.
